Jimi Hendrix was able to accomplish many things. He was able to change the way people thought of music. Jimi combined things in his music to make it totally unique. Hendrix was an influence and inspiration for many artist such as Eric Clapton, and Pete Townshend. Hendrix was just as entertaining musically as he was visually. Hendrix was known lots of antics and tricks on stage. He had been seen playing the |
| guitar with his teeth and behind his back. For a July 4th after playing probably the most creative and imaginative version the national anthem he threw his guitar up in the air in an explosion. Jimi also had lit his guitar on stage. These were all never done before and proved to be a great attraction to many people. What Jimi did on stage influenced many other groups and bands to do the same. Jimi also accomplished a lot in his own life. He was very poor growing up in Seattle with his dad. He moved often from his aunts house, to his mom's house, and many other relatives during the summer while his dad worked long hours. He also had to overcome his inability to read music. He could not read music so he had to listen to what he wanted to play and play it by ear. Hendrix was also entirely self taught. He had no help from a instructor or teacher. |
